Kristen Bounds is a student in the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy program at Northcentral University. This is a second career for Kristen as she has worked in the environmental lab industry since graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies in 2005.
Kristen is a member of the Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Kristen uses a systemic approach and narrative theory to help clients take charge of their own story.
Kristen sees clients in our Cary office and via telehealth.
When it comes to sex and intimacy, we get a lot of messages from the people around us and from society in general about what is right and wrong. I encourage my clients to question those messages and decide on the narrative that fits best for their lives.
Therapy should be a safe space, where clients feel welcome, free to share, and are able to be themselves. I take a collaborative approach to therapy which allows the client to go at their own pace and comfort level.
Kristen is originally from Ohio and has been in North Carolina for over 15 years. In her free time she enjoys all things crafty, being out in nature, and spending time with her partner and their fur babies.
