(she/her)
Lindsey White, MSW, LCSWA, is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate dedicated to helping people reclaim their sexual narratives through informed, affirming, and inclusive care. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Widener University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Carolina University.
Lindsey has worked in a variety of settings providing support and guidance to clients, including as a client advocate intern at a rape crisis center, where she offered crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of sexual violence. She also served as a respite care manager at a family center, working with families at risk of child abuse and strengthening her skills in family systems work and navigating generational trauma and relationship dynamics. These experiences deepened her understanding of how trauma impacts intimacy, consent, and healing, and helped shape her compassionate, trauma-informed approach to care.
Lindsey is passionate about addressing the gaps in sex education, especially how they leave people unprepared to understand their bodies, express their desires, and navigate healthy relationships. As a guest lecturer at Western Carolina University, she has led open, engaging conversations on pleasure and consent, engaging students in essential conversations that challenge societal taboos around sexuality.
Lindsey sees clients in our Durham offices and via telehealth. She accepts most BCBS, Cigna, and Aetna plans and also sees clients who would like to use out of network benefits or self-pay.
“Sex therapy is about reclaiming your story, one rooted in consent, clarity, connection, and choice.”

Working with Lindsey
Lindsey views therapy as a collaborative, compassionate process where clients are the experts of their own lives. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift unhelpful thought patterns and narrative therapy to explore and reshape the personal stories that influence identity and well-being. Her approach is trauma-informed, recognizing how past experiences affect present emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
Lindsey strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to show up fully and explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without shame or stigma, and she works to honor each person’s unique story and experiences around sexuality, helping them to build authentic and fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Lindsey loves spending time with her family and going on cruises whenever she gets the chance. Lindsey also enjoys learning about different cultures, especially through food. Trying new dishes and flavors is one of her favorite ways to explore and connect with the world.
